For those who compete, spend a lot of time on the range, or in hostile environments, labeling and numbering your magazines is a way you can keep up whats yours, how many you have, and gives you some insight into malfunctions. Whenever you experience a regular malfunction, it could be your magazine causing the issue. Bent or broken retention tabs, weakened springs and follower sticking can cause miss feeds, double feeds, and jams. Since most magazines look alike a good option is to number them so that you can tell which one is causing (or not causing) a problem.
