Our boat and watercraft courses are designed for all levels of training. From the professional rescuer to the prepared citizen, we offer courses that cater to your needs.
Boat operations are limited to departments and agencies with rescue or law enforcement equipped with a large boat or RIB.
Inflatable raft and boat operations are open to all persons who wish to learn about raft handling and operations.
Current Courses
Intro to Motorized Water Craft Operations
This 1 and 1/2 Day Course (12 hour standard) covers the basics of boating operations for first responders.
Course instruction includes:
- Standards and Guidelines
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazard Recognition
- Boat Equipment
- Handling Techniques
- Victim Packaging
- Basic Rope Rigging for Tethered Boat Operations
- Practical Operations and Planning
Course is held in both a classroom and outside environment, basic swimming and boating skills are a pre-requisite.
Pre-Requisites are Swiftwater Operations Level Training. Standards meet NFPA 1006 and 1670 guidelines for Fire Service and Rescue Agencies.
*These courses are approved training for Oneboat and the ROne Series of boats.
Boat Operations for Flood and Swiftwater
This 3 Day Course (24 hour standard) covers the basics of flood and boat operations.
Course instruction includes:
- Safety Standards and Guidelines
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazard Recognition
- Tactical Boat Equipment
- Practical Operations and Planning
- Boat Skills and Handling
- Moving Water Negotiation and Maneuvering
- Victim Approaches and Loading
- Scenario Based Training
Pre-Requisites are Swiftwater Operations Level Training. Standards meet NFPA 1006 and 1670 guidelines for Fire Service and Rescue Agencies and FEMA Task Force requirements for Boat Operator.
*These courses are approved training for Oneboat and the R One and R One i Series of boats.
Advanced Boat Operations for Flood and Swiftwater
This 2 and 1/2 Day Course (24 hour standard) is an advanced level course utilizing scenario based operations to teach handling skills and advanced rescue techniques.
Course instruction includes:
- Review Safety Standards and Guidelines
- Advanced Operations and Planning
- Boat Skills and Handling
- Boat Utilization and Application
- Moving Water Victim Approaches and Loading
- Scenario Based Training
- Night Operations
Pre-Requisites are Swiftwater Operations Level Training and TRS Boat Operations for Flood and Swiftwater.

Tactical Watercraft Operations
This1 Day Course (10 hour standard) covers the basics of the Tactical application of watercraft.
Course instruction includes:
- Safety Standards and Guidelines
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazard Recognition
- Tactical Boat Equipment
- Handling Techniques
- Tactical/Hostile Boarding
- Practical Operations and Planning
- Scenario Based Training
Course is held in both a classroom and outside environment, basic swimming and boating skills are a pre-requisite.
Course is open to Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue and EMS agencies only. Standards meet NFPA guidelines for Fire Service and Rescue Agencies.
